Veterans discount

Since when is one veteran more of a veteran? I asked for my veteran discount and was told that my veteran ID had to have service connected on it. Does that mean that you need to have a service connected disability? Well excuse me, for not being injured or maimed while serving in the military. I know what it's like when being shot at by hostile forces. Served my time in Vietnam. Now if i can answer my question? All veterans are equal as long that they served honorable. I believe that if you don't make it equal for all veterans then you will probably lose me to Lowes forever.
