Mistreatment Of United States Veterans

My friend is an anonymous previous employee of GE Corporate Headquarters.in GE Corporate Headquarters' security, there are two companies working with one another. GE has it's own security while it has a contracted company "Wackenhut" that assists with the gate. The Wackenhut employees have a requirement that they MUST BE VETERANS. This appears to some as an opportunity for employment, but there is a sad twist to this.

The non-veteran GE Security guards torment and mentally abuse the Wackenhut veterans on a regular basis. One particular individual by the name of "Rich Goetz" was named when I spoke to my friend that (as a previous employee of General Electric) witnessed this daily. The GE Security guards use the surveillance system to spy on the veterans and report them. Watching their every move and making them feel uncomfortable has been a regularity.

Wackenhut veterans have been quitting for three years due to mental abuse and mistreatment. Wackenhut admitted on several occasions that they have had a "difficult time" keeping veterans at that location. The GE Security officers brag that they make $17/hr and full benefits without having had served their country, while the veterans who are higher qualified are making $14/hr shady benefits. When my friend left the GE Corporate Headquarters, he said that he believed that some of the veterans he spoke with deserved the GE Security job more than the "civilian."

For a large company like GE, especially being United States based, I assumed that they would know better than to allow this for 3 years, and give themselves a bad name among veterans in the state of Connecticut. I do not recommend seeking professional employment within this company if you are a veteran, and would not suggest negotiating with them if you have any respect for veterans because their message is plain as day. "At GE Corporate Headquarters we degrade and dismantle the common respect a veteran deserves."
