The world thrives on communication today, which is why I'm so upset with the experience at Cingular Wireless. Quite honestly, I'm furious about this issue.

Here's my complaint: Since leaving our previous cellular company in Sept/Oct at the encouragement from Bellsouth, our home provider, to get service at our home (we're in a "black out" area), we have had nothing and I mean NOTHING but trouble from Cingular Cellular. Every Month we have billing troubles and every month, they agreed and partially credited our account for their errors. It's been a nightmare. We were told we had one "plan" but upon using the phone when traveling out of town, we were socked with a bill over $900 (Feb)! We called and Cingular assured us we just had the "wrong" plan to suit our needs and gave us some credits, again, but we still had to pay over $500.00 (for just one month!) We accepted a new plan which included ONLY our home state and ONLY on their map and ONLY as long as "cingular" was displayed on the phone face. W

E agreed to this with plans to immediately drop Cingular as soon as our contract is up. So while visiting our son at college, we used our phone, (in our home state, previewed the map first (all was clear for Orlando) and Cingular was on the FACE of our phone), with the knowledge we now had a smaller plan, but did not risk another high phone bill. BUT GUESS WHAT, We WERE charged Roaming and when we called about it, they said to bad and will not credit our account. This bill is over $300.00. Not only do they overcharge us monthly, they will not help us in any way. This should be a crime! We are a middle-class, educated family. Our phone bill has been higher than our mortgage. Outrageous and criminal. Cell phones are not new to us, but Cingular has certainly been a shock.

Given the nature of this problem, I'll take my business elsewhere from now on and tell EVERYONE we know NOT to use Cingular cellular. And I'll definitely tell other people about my negative experience so they can avoid it in the future.

We also will be filing a complaint with the FTC and if necessary, we may contact our attorney.

Here's what I'd like to see happen: We would like a credit for all the illegal charges we have been billed for and out of our contract early. We NEVER had this trouble before.
