Complaint Description:
On July 30th at approximately 1:30pm while shopping at the local Toys R US on Ming Ave we found a "buy one get one free ad" marked on a label on a shelf that stated it was for ALL Crayola Color Wonder and Color Explosion. We attempted to purchase both items under the terms of their ad. One product the Crayola’s beginnings colors me a song retailed at 19.99 clearly stated Crayola Color Wonder on the package and the other was the Crayola Color Explosion product priced at $14.99. The shelves were stocked with all different types of Crayola Color Wonder and Explosion products. Upon checking out the counter person named Pricilla told us that the products we were purchasing did not qualify for the ad. She said it must be some mistake. It would not ring up in the computer. She brought over the Manager on duty named Kathy. Kathy also said there must be some mistake that the products did not qualify. I walked over to the shelf and took pictures of the ad. I have them for proof should you need them I can provide them as well. The pictures I have show the SALE…Buy 1 get one free tag ATTACHED to the price tag/label. As I mentioned, one product was priced at $14.99 the other was $19.99. We were prepared to pay the $19.99 price and get the other product for $14.99 as the "get one free" product which in the terms and conditions on the tag/advertisement/label said... Product must be for equal or greater value and the product with greater value would have to be paid in order to get the other item. There was no attempt made by either Pricilla or Kathy to view their display and see the error for themselves or any attempt to satisfy us their client. Simply "Sorry it isn't possible" and "Sorry for the inconvenience". This isn't good enough for me. Some effort should have been made to confirm this error and an explanation should have been given that was "better" than oh well... Our bad. I said I would take a picture and show Kathy and Pricilla since neither would take the time to see the shelf and the ad for themselves. When I returned Kathy was gone and Pricilla had already rung us up for the ONE product. At this point I knew there was no further discussion available as they did not seem to care about the error and they had no intention of "making it right".
