Verizon Wireless
Fraud & Ripoff

Electronics and household app.

Verizon Wireless is trying to charge my account and put me in collections for a cellular phone that they allowed my mother to order on my account as a replacement phone for her defective phone. My mother's name is not on my account to begin with so the Verizon store that she went in to never should have ordered a phone for her. The phone that they are trying to charge me for has also already been returned to them. Verizon Wireless is saying that they never received the defective phone, however, we have a letter from the postmaster dated September 12 stating that the postmaster personally received the package to be returned to Verizon from my mother.

My wife has had several conversations with Kinyhatta R. From the Executive Relations office and has filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission and the Michigan Attorney General's office and Kinyhatta has outright lied in her response to the Better Business Bureau. Kinyhatta R. Replied to the Better Business Bureau complaint and stated my wife agreed to pay for the phone and that my wife told her we were satisfied with the outcome. This is absolutely untrue.

Now, Verizon is trying to say that my mother must have forged my name to order the phone. This is not true either. They have already admitted that the store should not have ordered a replacement phone without my permission and now Verizon is trying to say they will pursue criminal charges against a 60 something year old woman because my mom must have been trying to defraud them with her broken cell phone when she went in to the store to ask what she needed to do. This is a woman who barely knows how to use her cell phone - she still has dial-up internet in her home. I can guarantee she wasn't trying to fraud Verizon Wireless.

Verizon Wireless can file a claim with the post office for the insurance that Verizon paid for on the package, which I am sure they will still do. They are trying to put me into collections for $199.50 for the price of the phone to make me pay for it even though I have proof the phone was given to the post office for return. So somehow I am liable for the post office losing it? Are they going to try to make me pay for it and file an insurance claim with the post office so they can get paid for the same phone twice!

To make the situation even better I have asked them repeatedly to not call my mother about this situation anymore and they have still up until a couple days ago kept calling her. Again, her name is not on my account. Second they will not remove my ex-wife's name from my account. We haven't been married for over 2 years. My contract expired in February and they still refuse to remove my EX-wife's name.
