THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR ME, I gave up and tucked the expensive product away Internet

I bought a portable dvd play from walmart, it quit working on me after I had it for 5 months. Walmart wouldn't do anything as it was past the return time frame. I tried to use it one more time and it seemed to work fine. I only used it to travel with, so it wasn't used much at all. About six months later I went to use it again and again it wouldn't work, I tried repeadly to load a disk and it kept saying "no disc" the same problem kept persisting. I called the warranty office and told them of my dilemma and they said it was out of warranty by two days and couldn't do anything for me. I have a player that is nothing more than a paper weight, to expensive of an item to just throw away, especially when it was used so very little. Thank you
