Verbal Abusive / Physically aggressive owner/sales rep - BEWARE

This individual failed to properly disclose a restocking fee prior to selling a mobile phone charger. When we attempted to return it for a refund, he insisted on a restocking fee even though this was not adequately disclosed at the time of sale, there is no customer signature acknowledging the terms and the terms themselves are contradictory (saying "full refund of purchase price" in one section and "may be charged a restocking fee" in another).

The charger obviously had not be opened (much less used). This person stated that he was not going to discuss it, and that he would only issue a refund with a restocking fee or offer an exchange without a restocking fee. When we pressed for an explanation after noting the points above, he started to get very short with me — in front of family members including a 6 -year old daughter. He said that he would not discuss it and that he had no way of knowing whether the package had been opened or not. When I showed him that the package was clearly still factory intact, he grabbed it from my hands and started to open it saying, "these just open up, there is no sealing." I took hold of the package telling him not to open it, as that would make it look like I had opened it. He would not release the package and told me to let go immediately. He became very irate. I told him it was not his property and he shoved the package in my hands, called me a profane name and told me to leave as I was now trespassing and that he was calling the police. All of this behavior over a simple $30 charger that was being returned for a refund as per the invoice terms.

He started to call the police, and I asked for his full name. He showed me his name badge and noted that "he was the owner of the place." He scared the two family members I had with me, and so we left.
