JVC BLue Ray disc play manufacture Took defective item under warrenty and now wants money for service on defective unit

10/05 JVC received my BLue Ray disc player. It was a new unit out of the box in March. The unit would not update the FIRMWARE version in order to play the new released BLueRay disc from SONY or other companies that put the higher version of encriptions on the discs to prevent coping. I called many times and finally I feed up with it and I paid to mail it back after being told by the phone agent that there would be nop cost to me as long as proof of purchse was provided to show it was under a year since it was bought. I supplied original reciept dated 12/18. So infact it was still under warrenty. I waitied two weeks and called today 10/14/10 and the phone agent that got my call stated that they were waiting for additional payments from me to cover the cost of repairs. The unit was sold at a price 113.00 plus tax at christmas 09. The repairs totaled $99.00 plus service fees of $50.00. They were never going to call me to let me know this, they were going to sit on the unit till it was out of warrenty to justify the cost. Now they have my unit and tell me that it could take them another 32 to 36 hours to make a determination of what they are going to do. They said they would check with managers to see if the repair fee could be waived as long as I paid for the service fee. My answer to them is wrong on both accounts. You sold me a defective unit and now you want to pay for that unit again. Just send iot back to me so ic can return it back to the store for my money back.
