Faulty electrical and photocell

Bought brinks dirt-beginning light design 7252 from walmart and had it installed with a licensed electrician. The light started to produce smoking from its top and giving off a scent of electric burning after many months. The fire department was called and the light was removed. Brinks company was notified and had no explanation for this issue. Brinks did oblidge to send me another light fixture of the same exact design. Many months later this issue re occurred with the replacement lamp. It's recommended this light-use a 100w halide bulb.
