Half the enjoyment of viewing a film you've control over is getting the control over it. VHS players and inexpensive DVD players have often had body progress and slow-motion functions in both forward and opposite. The Panasonic BluRay BD6O is among the several BluRay people that's body progress or slow-motion at-all - although not backwards - forward only. What great is slow-motion in the event that you cant return to discover that which you desired to observe in slow-motion (or frame-by-frame) within the first place.
