Cheaply made, failed PS and just flat rude customer service

I obtained a 90watt laptop power supply from JacobsParts via their ebay store. The unit was solidly made, the plug fit perfectly in the Laptop, but there was just one tiny problem:

After 6 days of using this, I came in the room to find my TV clicking away and my Xbox turning itself on and off. I come to find out after unplugging things that it was the laptop adaptor from JacobsParts causing this!

Apparently not only did it fail, but it decided to pulse power on and off, and somehow effected other items on the same circuit as well, other than just the laptop. Fortunately none of my equipment seems to be harmed by this, save one thing: My rug now has a large melted location where the Power supply was sitting. Not only did it get hot enough to melt the fibers of the rug, but the plastic case itself as well.

Of course I get a hold of JacobsParts customer service, who inform me that they will replace it, but I have to pay shipping, and it will be about two weeks total before I get the replacement. The service rep is very rude when I explain what happened, attempting to blame it on me, my other equipment, solar flares, and actually insuinated I was inept and should not be using a computer without help.

I simply gave up after being treated so badly and bought a different brand which is working fine. I will note I had a friend who knows electronics look at the remains. He pointed out the faults, including low quality PCB, poorly made traces and components not rated for the amount of wattage this was supposed to have.

You get what you pay for. You want cheap? Get one, just make sure your fire insurance is paid up...
