A few years ago, I bought a Garmin c550 road navigator. It had audio problems, so I exchanged it with Garmin after a lot of fighting about it. The new one had a new problem—it would not power on. I fought and fought with Garmin again. Finally, they replaced it. This went on with each new unit they sent me having a different problem. I got tired of this and ended up just throwing the unit away.

I then bought the Garmin Nuvi 350, thinking perhaps they made this one better. This one freezes up whenever you try to input data into it. It also completely stopped working one time as I was driving across the Midwest. I would have been completely lost if it wasn't for the GPS on my cell phone. I contacted Garmin right after I bought the unit about the freezing up problem. They ignored me. I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. Garmin ignored the complaint. I e-mailed a couple executives at Garmin, and they had their customer service department e-mailing me back. They asked for my receipt. However, I lost my job in January so all of my belongings including receipts are in storage. Because of that Garmin refuses to do anything. If they would have responded to my original inquiry on the issue, I would have had the receipt to send them.

In addition, I bought a c550 for my mother. It freezes a lot midway through a route while navigation and has to be reset often. I did not even complain to Garmin about this one. I have enough trouble fighting with them every single time for my own Garmin navigators.
