Eagle Satellite & Home Theater
Eagle Satellite, Installation Cable Ripoff

Electronics and household app.

Eagle Satellite was arranged by Dish Network to perform a FREE upgrade installation. When their technician arrived, late and after having to reschedule, to perform the FREE upgrade, he informed me a new (HDMI) cable was required, that it cost 60 dollars and that 60 dollars was their cost. Trusting them to be truthful, I purchased the cable in order to complete the upgrade.

Later I investigated and found the same cable readily availablefor less than 10 dollars. I contacted Eagle and requested a refund for the return of the cable and they replied with dishonest and dissembling information about the quality of the cable and its cost. And the owner, Pat Gordon, refused to accept the cable's return.

I believe this is a deliberate practice of profiteering where they set up a condition where their technician is at my home holding a previously undisclosed component, now excessively marked-up, that is necessary to complete the work which was advertised to be FREE!

This is purposeful on their part because no mention of the cable need was made during several phone calls with them scheduling the upgrade appointment. Had the cable been mentioned, I would have found and purchased a suitable cable before their visit.
