Philips will not honor manufactures defect Deposit newyork nationwide

We purchased a philips 42 in flat screen tv plasma 12/20/06. A board burnt out they covered the first time after many conversation. That was repaired 4/14/08. The same thing has happened. We had another repair co. Come out take tv for estimate told us that he replaced the board (ssb) and left it on and it ran so hot it burnt out.

My question is if this same board keeps burning out is it a manufactures defect. The service co said it is unrepairable. It runs so hot you are lucky not to have had fire.

Although we did not purchase an extended warranty. I don't think a tv should burn out in 2 short years.

I feel philips is accountable to the customer and some kind of rebate or concession should be made
