Refusal to stand behind defective phone

Electronics and household app.

In July I purchased a Samsung SGH-A737 from the AT&T Wireless store in Livermore, CA. Within 7 days the phone was broken (cracked LCD) and therefore unuseable.

I proceeded to take the phone back to the store for help and they told me that it was "most likely" physical damage and not covered by warranty. The fact of the matter is the phone suffered NO physical damage and failed under normal use.

Having been let down by AT&T Wireless, I proceeded to contact Samsung and was told the same thing.

As stated above, this phone suffered no physical damage and the exterior case was, and still is, flawless, showing NO sign of abuse, dropping, or other physical damage. The screen simply cracked, likely due to defect.

Now, AT&T has me locked in to a 2-year commitment on a phone that was defective and I am out almost $100.

I have been an AT&T Wireless customer since their first go 'round as AT&T Wireless having migrated from GTE Mobilnet in the late 90's and this is how they treat their loyal customers...
