WARNING-DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - Selling refurbished merchandise as new!

On May 6 I ordered the Sony46XBR5 on line from Projector Export. They had the lowest price. I was e-mailed back to call them. I called and talked to Steve. He told me that they did not have any Sony46XBR5 in stock but a new model came out which is better than what I ordered. Trusting this man I said great. I thought I was getting a new model of the XBR5 for the same price!!!

I found out that the new model of the XBR5 will not come out till the fall!!! Then I thought to myself "What the heck am I getting from Profector Export?" I called Steve who told me that I was getting the Sony 46W4100PK. I went to Bernies in town and asked them about the W series. He said that it is a new model but that it is inferior to the XBR and he never heard of the PK. I called Sony and they said that the W series is 2 steps down from the XBR and that PK does not exist. He said this is a typical bait and switch.

I refused delivery of the TV and called Steve back and he FINALLY admitted to me that the TV had been "enhanced" by a company called Faroudja to make it a better TV than the XBR. He tried to convince me to take delivery of the TV and would even take $100 off!!! NOT.

I declined and he told me that I would have to pay the shipping back and a cancellation fee. I told him I will not and that I would call my credit card company to have the charge removed. He told me by the way that the customer service office is closed and I would have to call back tomorrow to cancel.

I believe what this company is doing is illegal and unethical and told Steve I would report them to every agency so that other people will not have to go through what I have. How many more people out there have received refurbished merchandise thinking it is brand new? If it happened to you DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT. Report them!!!
