Price Mad - PC Video On-line BEWARE—Apparent Bait & Switch Artists, No-Customer Service Customer Service, No Good

I researched the LCD TV I wanted to buy (Sharp 32" LCD TVs (model #32D43U) and then searched on-line to find a good deal. I apparently found a deal that was too good to be true. Via the Projector Export website (which had a decent rating from Price-Scan which should not be believed), I thought I had purchased 2 new Sharp 32" LCD TVs (model #32D43U) at $515 per set and $58 shipping ($1088). I then got a call from a salesperson at Projector Export who wanted to confirm the order but he also let me know that they only had one of those TVs, which by the way were classified as refurbished but were actually new units purchased by them from a California retailer that had gone out of business (my scam/fraud alert should have gone off but it did not) and he offered me to sell 2 units of another new, but classified as refurbished model, that was about $100 more expensive but a better unit and would I also want HDMI cables with it and they could deliver it within a week as they had the units available in stock (this alleged bait & switch tactic appears to be part of their normal sales repertoire). As I trusted the salesperson and assumed what he was saying was legitimate, I went ahead and authorized the purchase at $1348 on 7/30/08 which was $260.00 more than what I had originally ordered (my credit card was charged on 7/30/08 as well). To date they have never posted any tracking information for delivery (ies) for this order. They do not respond to emails. During phone calls with customer service or sales persons they promise to send you an email with updated information which never comes or they tell you to call tomorrow. Their customer service and sales persons appear to be bothered with your call or they act like they want to help but can provide no helpful information to you on expected shipping dates, what has been ordered, etc.

To date only one of the two TVs was received on or about 8/11 and it was clearly a refurbished model versus what was told to me (new but classified as refurbished). The shipment was also missing a power cord and a cable clamp which they promised to send the next via overnight delivery to arrive on 8/13 and to date, 8/14, these items have not been received. The two HDMI cables were received on 8/14. A complete nightmare expereince of dealing with a company that is good at taking your money and little else. I would never do business with them again and warn all other from doing business with them. I have opened a case with the BBB and disputed their charges on my credit card. I only want this to go away, return what has been sent and get a credit for the purchase amount. I have learned my lesson to deal with reputable companies online. Please learn a lesson from me.
