I have had problems with T-Mobile reception in my area in the past. When I went to the store to attempt the service again, I specifically asked the attendant if service had been added to my area. He said yes, and showed me a map of the service coverage that showed my area in the 'green', or 'good' coverage. Upon arriving home, I discovered that the service would not function within a half of a mile of my residence.

I sent numerous e-mails requesting help, to which I received only cookie-cutter responses and vague condolences. I thought it was possibly my own device, but I discovered this was not the case when several people I know with T-Mobile came to my house with several different phone types, and none could receive any service.

Several times I contacted customer support on the issue seeking a resolution, whether it be a refund, a waiving of early cancellation, a replacement phone that could function via a wireless modem, or any other ideas they could come up with. Each time I was told nothing was possible, but they had put in a service request for the area, and it would be taken care of soon. Every time, they would insist that the map showed coverage, and because of this, they could do nothing further to help me. The most recent e-mail to customer service has yet to be returned, and it has been several months.

I have paid for a service I have not been receiving for upwards of one year, and T-Mobile has insisted on giving me the runaround. My latest call to customer service yielded only more comments about the map, and how if the map says I have coverage, then I must. They refused to send a technician to validate my claim, and they refuse to allow me to cancel my contract without charging a termination fee.
