Lost my unit - told me it shipped back to me 6x and then tried to charge for a replacement unit

Electronics and household app.

Sent my 1 year old roadmate 700 (was purchased for $599) on july 23rd. I was charged $50 for repair and told that i would receive my unit back in 2-4 weeks. After 2 1/2 months and a lot of phone calls that went nowhere i was told they had upgraded their shipping system and had lost the unit. On 10/9/07 i was offered a replacement unit (roadmate 2000t) free of charge, although this unit was inferior and much cheaper i felt like i had no other options.

On 11/12/07 i contacted magellan again as i had not received the replacement unit. They then informed me that they had run out of 2000t units and could only offer me the maestro 4000 series unit (lists for $350) for a discounted price. They are the worst company i have ever had to deal with. They lose a $600 unit, charge me $50 to repair and then want me to buy an inferior replacment unit.
