So-Called Premium Retailers Pretend to be "real" Verizon stores

I discovered the hard way that just because a store has the Verizon signs and sell phones and accessories, doesn't mean they are a "real" Verizon store. I bought my new Cherry Chocolate phone at the store nearest my home thinking it was a real Verizon store. Little did I know it wasn't.in fact, I ended up paying $80 more for the phone because it is a Premium Retailer.

I'll bet most people who walk into these places think they are walking into a real Verizon store. The clerks tell me they can do anything the other stores do, except billing. They don't tell you, however, that you are being ripped off on the prices.

After this happened, I searched and searched and finally found a full-page ad in the LA Times that says is teeny, tiny print, that "Equipment prices, rebates & return poly vary by location. Premium Retailers may impose additonal equipment-related charges, including cancellation fees." There is nothing in the store that indicates this is going to happen.

I consider what they are doing fraud! Customers should be told BEFORE they make a purchase that they are paying extra because they happened to walk into this so-called Premium Retailer. I would have driven the extra few miles to the real store if I'd known this.
