Phone problems need repair scam lie unrepaired water damage

Sony ericsson scams your broken phone claiming "water damage".

My Z525a starting acting very strangely after I moved from Colorado to San Francisco. I could not hear anyone talking on the phone, nor could they hear me. But if I used speakerphone, they could hear me. Furthermore, it would not play any sounds manually but it would play ringtones.

I sent my phone in to Sony for repair. They returned it Unrepaired, saying: "We found evidence of liquid damage, corrosion from moisture that spreads."

I never got water on or anywhere near the phone. When I called, they told me that it was corroded from condensation.

They LIED TO MY FACE. I couldn't believe it.
Corrosion cannot occur with condensation - condensed water is distilled water.in order for electronics to be corroded, there must be a contaminant. Distilled water does not have any contamination.

My guess is that it was leftover Flux residue from the soldering process in the manufacturing of the phone, which must not have been cleaned off properly and has corroded the phone until it was wrecked. Either that, or battery acid, both of which are MANUFACTURER'S DEFECTS.

Sony refuses to replace the phone that broke because of their fault. They are claiming that condensation occurence is not under normal operating conditions - so moving from inland to the coast is not under normal operating conditions? They sure don't state that in their warranty contract.

Sony must not put a proper protective coating on their chipboards to protect it from condensation WHICH THEY SHOULD DO ANYWAY. They won't even agree to this and are holding to their story that it's my fault and refuses to honor that they made a mistake and should replace my phone. Now I have no phone and I have to spend time and money on a new one that suits my needs.
