Am I the only one scammed by DirecTV? I cannot get cable where I live, so I researched the satellite TV offers. After trying to get through all the "additional charges" fine print, I called DirecTV and talked with a salesman named "Michael" for a long time, confirming at least three times that my total cost per month would be $49.95 for my one year commitment. Soon after installation I received a call confirming my service and my billing total of $76.00 per month. After talking with at least 4 other "customer service" reps, I was assured that the salesman must have made a mistake and that I have no options except to cancel and incur hundreds of dollars of cancellation fees. How can any company operate like that?
