Customer Service ripoff No Customer Service

Electronics and household app.

On 2/6/07 I placed my order for a Sony Viao Digital Entertainment System Model # VGX - XL1 via telephone and was told my order would ship on 2/8/07 this date was posted on your site.

On 2/9/ the shipment date was changed to unknown.
On 2/12 I called customer service and spoke with David ref# 010212-001339. After being on hold and a lengthy conversation he agreed to ship my purchase 2nd day air and it would be shipped on 2/13.. On 2/14 the shipping status hadnt been changed and was still listed as ship date unknown. I called and spoke with Crystal who verified that there was not a date set and would get back to me with a answer as to why I then spoke to CS supervisor Marlon Alaly at aprox 10am est Marlon told me he would look into the matter and get back to me. At aprox 5pm est Marlon called me back and told me that he had not received a answer. I requested he turn this matter over to someone that would handle this matter and get back to me today. After he told me he was still waiting for someone from the shipping.

On 2/15 @aprox 10 am est I called and spoke with Tamara who told me Marlon was in a meeting and she would connect me with Dessere a quality control supervisor who after about 40 minutes of asking to speak to her supervisor told me she would call me back within a hour 11am est.

Supervisor Desere called back at 12pm est and told me her supervisor would call the warehouse and call me back within 2 - 3 hours. I explained I wanted to talk to her supervisor not be put off again without a answer but was cut short and not put on with her supervisor.

The solution sought is shipment of the product I ordered I suggested that they send me another unit either new or refurbished at no additional charge but was told that they could not do that. This experience has been the single worst buying experience. I purchased from Sony because of its product and reputation that is obviously overstated. Something as simple as giving a customer a responsible direct answer and following up to make sure that in this case that it is shipped as stated is something that can not be done.
