Ripoff warranty scam

Do not purchase a warranty protection plan. The salespeople are good at selling these but they do not work.

When I purchased a laptop three years ago the sales rep said I could get a loaner computer at any Circuit City store if my computer needed repair since it takes them 2 weeks on average to fix.

When my harddrive failed I called the closest retail store (I was traveling for my job) and asked for a loaner while my computer was being fixed. They thought I was an alian asking such a question.

I did not have two weeks to wait so I had the computer fixed locally and after $330 my computer was up and running the next day.

When my computer failed again I was in Grand Rapids and talked to the manager of the store where I purchased the computer. He flat out told me they never have given out loaners while a computer was being repaired. The manager asked how long ago I purchased the computer and I said three years ago. He made it seem like they were a completely new company and how could they possible be held to uphold the promises they made way back then.

The service tech at the store reviewed my situation and helped me get a loaner. They even had a regular form to fill out to get a loaner. He said it was a regular practice to give out loaners three years ago.

I mailed my computer out for repair to the warrany center and they sent it back within a week saying they denied service. I had to call ask why it was denied and they told me because of a liquid spill.

I asked for picutres to "prove" this idea and they sent me two pictures which do not prove a liquid spill.

There was not recourse to appeal this final decision, the retail store wants to give me $250 off the purchase of a new computer which does not even cover the cost of my warrany protection plan. I want my computer fixed.

I run between the warrany department, retail and corporate and they all say we are sorry but there is nothing we can do.

Save your money, reduce your stress and NEVER NEVER NEVER purchase one of these crap warranty protection plans.
