Ripoff defective merch foreign cust. Svc couldn't get hold of to return

This website is advertised as "SURPLUS" with full manufacturer warranty, etc... Unfortunately I missed seeing the part where they say they're factory serviced, minor blemish... (aka used).

When I received the merchandise - it was really obvious that this was a used item and it had gunk on it, etc. I wanted to return it immediately, but didn't see return info. On the website or in the packaging inside the box.

I tried 2-3 times to contact them thru contact email information on their web site. The email address they gave to contact them didn't work. The emails I tried to send came back as undeliverable... Their email box was full.

I tried to make the best of it and took the item home and tried to clean it up (with some goo-gone) and charge it up and at least see if it worked. It didn't charge... No lights. I left it hooked up and ran some errands. When I returned it appeared to have started charging. I let it charge for 3 days and then tried it. It would work for about 6" then stop, then work for another 5" and stop... It was worthless.

I repackaged it and brought it back to my office to ship it back to Shark for refund - but didn't find a number for them (honestly, it was on the UPS label on the box from them, I just didn't think to look there). When I went back to this problem later on and contacted them, I was dealing with foreigners who don't speak great english and clearly only wanted to tell me I had it more than 30 days and I couldn't return it. It didn't matter that I could prove I tried to contact them through the email address they give on their website and it was rejected.

So — it's my fault I didn't return it in time (I'm a week late). I just want to make sure others realize the product they will get could very likely be like I got (mine was made in Turkey), and will probably look beat up and crappy. And trying to talk to someone from the company (for any reason) will not be easy. And their "full warranty" is pretty much useless. [Do you really want to pay $40 for something that looks like crap and with only a 30-day warranty?! If it breaks after you use it a few times, you've probably exceeded the warranty time, and you'd have to pay shipping on top of it to return it? ]

I highly suggest you avoid ordering from this website! If you really want the item, buy it from a reputable local store that carries it. That way you can return it to the local store if there's a problem and not have to go thru the hassle of contacting the company or having to mail it back within warranty period. If your local stores don't carry it - there's probably a good reason why.
