Electronics and household app.
I ordered a 56 inch LCD SAMSUNG TV via internet from www.pricemad.com; the salesperson called to confirm the order but suddenly went into a pressure sale of "why do you want to buy that tv, we have a plasma for less money and better quality".
So after thinking about it I changed my mind and went for the plasma. When it arrived I noticed the screen was scratched and when I turned it on, it would only power up for less than ten seconds then I could hear a relay switch kick in and put it on standby. It wouldn't turn on unless I unplugged it and plugged it back in only to do the same.
On further inspection I noticed that on the back top right of the set, one of the ventilation grilles was warpped, as in possibly having been dropped. When I called the manager, he says they don't take returns unless I pay over $1,500.00 in restocking fees plus two way shipping charges up front.
Panasonic doesn't make exchanges on the product but will send out a repairperson to check it out. Panasonic will also not replace the damaged screen which cost over $1,800.00 on their parts list because they feel it was a shipping issue.
I put a complaint to my credit card company, and they requested I talk to the vendor before they pursue this matter any further. They have not returned any of my calls.
