The agent whom I thought worked for CINGULAR neglected to tell me that when I moved and switched numbers to be local that I would be charged 300 per line. Ripoff, Brea

When I purchased my phones, Dec. 2004 the salesperson knew I planned to move, we even went through the map to make sure my city I was moving to had coverage. Then over a yr later, I get a call from my grandmother saying a man from California is hunting me down, and is a lawyer, and I need to call him ASAP.

I called the guy, who harrased me saying I owed them money, and we needed to get this resolved now. I immediaetly called cingular, telling them that I am being scammed and I wanted to file a report. Cingular says some agents they use can give us their own contract. This is BULL. NOW WHERE DOES THE STAND SAY MOBILE MAGIC; it says CINGULAR ALL OVER!

After fighting numerous times over the phone, and disputing in writting, they finally sent me a contract I suposedly signed saying that the phone lines must stay active for 181 days or I will be charged 300 per line. Now there is interest for each line. I only moved and changed numbers. And I did so around 120 days. But never disconnected my phone, no service interuption, nothing, so why should I pay.

Last I heard from them, they will be calling to set a court date, and then try to garnish my wages. I tried to pleed my case, but it fell on deaf ears. I do not feel that changing numbers is the same as canceling lines. Am I alone in my thought process? It seems like this is the most unfair scheme ever!
