Ripoff

Cingular sent me a phone that I did not intend to order by a linkage with another site. I know this because they had an old married name from 15 years prior attached to it. They were linking with one of the credit card applications I did on line. So I received this phone, called customer service, returned the phone by UPS the next day. Cingular says they never received the phone and continued to bill me the monthly service charges even though the phone was never activated.

Everytime I call Cingular they can not help me, or they say they will investigate and get back to me which they never do. The bill has now been in collection for a year and I refuse to pay for something I did not use. I keep calling Cingular and they have no record that I have called before, or any record of the phone return to date. I ask for confirmation that they are recording the conversation, and they have none.

I can get nowhere with Cingular or the credit collection company. I will not give away my hard earned money to get them off my back. That is extortion. There is no responsibility on Cingular's side of reporting or documentation. Their entire way of dealing with the problem is to not give you documentation or cooperation. I will not be bullied into giving my money away. If anyone else tried to do this it would be assault and robbery.
