I tried what was stated in the consumer comment rebuttal about asking for the copy of the recording in which the contract terms where read and agreed to verbally.
Simply stated, Cingular could not produce such a recording. Nor can they produce a signed contract for the phone in question.

The way they are apparently getting around this is to say that when you receive the phone and call the activation number that you sign via an electronic signature, and that the phone service would not be activated without you (the customer) apparently entering some type of code. They are supposed to be sending me this electronically signed contract. It should be interesting to see what they produce.

The long and short of this is not about the extra $150 dollars they are expecting me to pay for cancelling their service for the two phones that we had. If I couldn't afford it I would most likely not have had cell phone service in the first place.

It was very deceptive on their part at the time the additional line was added to the existing contract for the $9.99 per month fee, to not clearly state that an additional contract was required for this service.
