Att Wireless ripoff

I have bin riecieving letters from a palisades collection agency that claimed i owed them money for a 6 year old cell phone. That i knew nothing about, it was on my credit report. They claimed i owed 837.00 i spoke to the guy and settled the debt for 603.38 the man told me it was settled and i would recieve a letter saying so and it would be removed from my credit.instead after my check cleared they sent me another bill for 257.00. Now when i try to call them no one wants to talk to me and it is still on my credit report. If any one is willing to help me with this since i have seen numerous complaints on the internet about this company. Please contact me.
