Ripped Me Off Too!

I was a very recent customer of MCI Worldcom Wireless, until I got fed up with their billing process. I too, wouldn't receive bills. Sometimes one month, sometimes 3 months would go by before I would receive a bill, but some how I would always seem to get a past due notice somewhere in between. I paid them promptly when I received them. Sometimes I would receive postcards and letters saying they were correcting their billing problems, ya right!!! This has continued on for over a year. I paid my bills without complaint, until now. The bill in question that I received, was to me, an extremely large amount, so of course, it got my attention, that's when I investigated my bill closer. I always trusted and assumed they were correct. Not true! This was my current charges as well as a previous bill that had been paid. What caught my eye was the calls listed on this bill had been free airtime on the last bill but now have a charge on them and a couple of calls had their prices changed by a few cents. I sent MCI Worldcom Wireless copies of my bills, with calls in question highlighted with no response, except a now past due notice along with notice of 10 days to respond or service will be suspended. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe, the letter got lost in the mail or somewhere in their vast company. I now needed to call them. I spent approxiamtely 30 minutes on the phone waiting for a represntative to take my call. (I feel bad for these people as I know its not their fault what this company does.) The more we talked the angerier I got. She really wasn't interested what went on with my bill, just that, was I going to pay it by check or credit card and that they don't take care of adjusting the bill. Finally she said to fax copies of my canceled checks to this number she gave me and they will contact me in 5 days. She wasn't able to do anything else, except, tell me I would still have a balance due after the adjustment, well DUH!!! She still wanted me to pay the difference, I said not until the amount of the calls in question were straightened out. She was able though, to turn my service off, go figure. I also, told her that I was going to a different company and she told me, "you know, that many of the other companies wont take you as a customer until you pay this bill and I hope you reconsider". I'm sure it was to scare me into staying with MCI, but if that's the case with these other companies I don't need their cell phone either. I have no problem paying a corrected bill but I am not paying for a bill that they messed up (or any accumlated late charges that occur during this process). So now, I have to make copies of checks and bills and highlight the problems again, to defend myself. I will complain to the Bad or Better Business Bureau as well! I hope others report their problems with this company! Good Luck to anyone dealing with MCI Worldcom Wireless!!!
