Buyer beware!!! My husband and I are retired and living on a fixed income so we thought magicjack would save us some money each month. Big mistake... This has been a nightmare. We purchased MJPlus on 8/14. When they say use with or without a computer, that's a lie. You have to have a computer to run it. Finally, hooked up, activated, our home phone number transferred, which we have had for 29 years, and at a cost of $19.99 for the transfer, phone would not work. After spending over 12 hours "chatting" with more than 9 technitions, there was no resolution. Every tech had different solutions, which none of them worked, and leads me to believe they don't know what they are doing. Finally, fed up, on 8/27, I took the device back to Radio Shack, got my money back from them and contacted MagicJack to cancel the service and make my number available for AT&T to transfer it back. MagicJack will not allow AT&T access to transfer our number back. That is a whole other story. So, we now have a new number after all these years. MagicJack is difficult to work with and the advertising is misleading. Also, they don't inform you that eventhough you have a high speed internet, it does not work with all providers. When we returned the device to Radio Shack, we then were informed it does not work with Clearwire, which should have been disclosed at the time we purchased it. Terrible service... There is no telephone number, so you can't talk to anyone. The only contact is the "chat room" and you don't know where they are located. DON'T BUY MAGICJACK! But, if you do, don't disconnect your current telephone service until you know it is hooked up and working properly. Hopefully, the BBB, FCC and FTC will eventually find out how they are ripping people off and shut them down.
