Price ripoff

Electronics and household app.

Shooting photos at the waterfront, but didn't have my zoom lens as it's too large to carry sometimes. I stopped into a photoshop to see what kind of lenses were available to suit my purposes. I had not done any research (unfortunately). The salesman seemed to be quite knowledgeable, and the lens had an $899 price tag on it. He quickly dropped the price to $499. As I was so impressed with the capability of the lens, which he said was brand new and had a 6-year warranty (it doesn't), I thought about it. He threw in a $49 filter, and a string for the lens cap, and dropped the price to $450. I thought he must be getting close to his bottom, so I agreed to the purchase.

After getting back to my hotel, I decided to see if I overpaid. I expected that I may find the lens for (at the most) $50 less than I paid for it. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the retail price is actually $329 for this lens.

Basically, the store rips off the uneducated consumer, and I learned a very valuable lesson about impulse buying.
