Ripoff hopefull college bound students needing fiancial aid

My wife and I enrolled on 4-11-02 at a seminar in our town of Menifee Ca. We made monthly payments of $100.00 for a year until we payed them $1290. Now in late Dec 03, I get this notice that they have closed their doors. Is there anything I can do to recover this money for my daughter's college fund or am I just screwed?
