Sat and act center fraud

On Dec 8 this Company called stating they had a great prep course to help prepare for the SAT. They told me the cost was $199.99 and I would be charged an additional amount each month is I accepted the original shipment. I was told I had 30 days to decide and if I was not pleased I could return it for a full refund. After sleeping on it over night I decided not to go forward with the order and I called the phone number given to me for 6 straight days (866 400 7735) getting a recording which stated "Leave your name and number and someone will call you right back". I did this 6 days in a row with no return call. The msg I left was stating I did not want the order, I was canceling it and I left my name, phone and confirmation number for the order.

On 19 Dec I received a package from the SAT Prep Center which I did not open, I wrote across the box, "REFUSED, RETURN TO SENDER" and took it to the Post Office on 22 Dec and returned it.

To make a long story short, I have yet to receive a refund. I have called and spoken to someone there on 3 occasions. The first time I was told by a lady that "you need to give us time to process the return" which led me to believe they had received the return. After a sufficient amount of time I called again, getting a woman who was nasty and sarcastic and told me "you did not follow directions for the return, so you are NOT getting a refund". She told me that I was told to open the package and use a return label if I decided not to keep the material. I was suppose to have been told that the day of the inital phone call. Had I been told that I would have done so.

Last week I was charged another amount for more material which I have not received. I called again, getting the same nasty obnoxious woman who more or less called me a liar saying I never returned the original package within the 30 days there fore I am not entitled to a refund (the package was returned 2 days after receiving it) and hung up on me. I called back and was spoken to rudely again by the same woman who told me "I am done talking to you"and hung up on again.

Something needs to be done to stop this company from taking advantage of other people. Not only did they not refund my original $119.99 but I am being charged a additional amount for which I received nothing and long after I had told them I cancelled the order. There are many people out there who have been approached by this Company. They approach us, although they claim our children have requested to be contacted. I have checked with the school. No such literature or requests have been submitted to the kids or from the kids. They need to be shut down. We need to ban together in a Class action suit to shut these swindlers down.

Every complaint I have come across online about this company the story is the same. The people give their money with the pretense of a full refund if not satisfied with the product. And we never get a dime in return. This company makes promises which they do not keep, changes their story depending on who you talk to and they obviously have never taken a course in Customer Service. How can they be so enept at that but so good at fraud? Years of practice I guess.

So parents of future SAT/ACT takers BEWARE. Those who have been jerked around by these frauds, lets ban together. They must be stopped.
