Ripoff by AOL account ripoff

My March credit card statement had a $134.95 charge to Simple Escapes. When I called the reference number on my statement, a representative told me that someone had ordered their services from my computer the last week of January.

He said it was a special offer available only to AOL subscribers. When I told him that I did not authorize this, he suggested that someone else must have done so from my omputer. No one else shares my computer.

He tried to sell me the services until I got rather firm with him and told him of my on-line search that disclosed all the other victims. He then agreed to credit my account, but it might take up to two months to do so. This means the company is using our money free of charge to do whatever it wishes.

I have sent an email to AOL concerning this, but have heard nothing back. I have been very pleased with my AOL service and their advertised policy of protecting our info. This lapse greatly concerns me.
