Jacking up interest rates to 32.99% if you're late with a payment

Bank of "scamerica" punishes it's clients by jacking up the interest rate from 8.9% to 32.99% if a payment is late, (a 6 month duration)... They've done this to me twice... I admit the first time I was at fault, but the 2nd time is totally their fault due to total incompetence. I had sent this bank a check for over 7,300.00 to pay off my balance, (and close the acct). The check was sent with my statement, (all pertinent info was there), and in plenty of time so I wouldn't get nailed with a late fee, (and the 32.99% increase for being a bad customer and not getting the payment there on time... Yup, it's true... You get a late fee of of 40.00, plus an interest rate increase for being late). Anyway, I kept on eye on my account online to make sure that check would post to my account, the due date came and went with the check never posting. I emailed customer service asking them what was going on, why this check never posted, and they replied that there never was a check.in the meantime, I was notified by my bank that Bank of America sent my check BACK to them, stating that there was no customer with my name with an acct. At Bank of America!!! My bank was sending the check BACK to BOA, (with all info). To make a long story short, I got nailed with a late fee, my interest rate went back up to 32.99% (for 6 months) all due to BOA's totally INCOMPETENT customer service. I'm still waiting to see if the resent check will post, or if CS will send the check back to my bank. I'm sure they're credo is: "I think, therefore I'm overqualified"...
