Bill Utter Ford - North American Prize Pool
Informs me my son won drawing, 3rd tier status of $45000.00, sent check for $1850.00 ripoff

I received a letter in the mail for my son stating he was drawn randomly for the North American Prize Pool and was a 3rd tier winner status. Total winnings were $45,000.00 in US Funds. Congratulations! Enclosed was a check for $1,850.00 which was to cover both administrative payment and clearance fees of the winnings.

This check looks VERY real with watermarks, legitimate bank and all of the Ford dealership's information (which is a legitimate business). The letter instructed me to contact Ford's North American agents, Shirley Walters or Roger Daker @ 1-780-604-7349 and must be claimed by no later than July 30. On the letter was a batch number you are supposed to quote in all correspondence.

I was very suspicious of the letter in the first place but as I looked closer, I noticed the envelope had a return address in Quebec City, Canada and the post mark was from Canada. This looked even more suspicious so I began to investigate it further on the internet. That's when I found this site and all the very similar statements posted but just with other businesses.

Very fishy! Scams are always going to happen as long as people are getting away with it. We have to do something about this. If my son would have opened this (he is 18 by the way), he would have more than likely fell for it. The check is very convincing.
