The Shopping Corner
Sent fraudulent check through mail for $2,900.00 with wire instructions. Check is a fraud!

Education & Science

Please be aware of a scam from The Shopping Corner. I received a check written on a Bank of America account in Charleston, SC and took it to a Bank of America branch here in St. Louis, MO. The check was for $2,900. As a former banker and employee of Bank of America, I took the check into the branch and was told that it was a fraud!!! The teller and her supervisor took the check and gave me copies of it and the letter that contained the breakdown and wire instructions. DO NOT TAKE THESE CHECKS TO YOUR BANK AND DEPOSIT THEM!!! They are not authentic!!! I am forwarding a complaint to the United Postal Service and the Attorney General's office in Illinois and South Carolina. I also have alerted the police department in Baltimore, MD. Fortunately, I am not out of any money as I did my own verification before signing or depositing the check. I encourage anyone receiving a check from this company to immediately alert Bank of America, United States Postal Service, police and other authorities.
