The Real Estate Network - TREN
Shame on me not the brightest crayon in the box ripoff

Education & Science

My husband and I went to a TREN seminar in 2005. I don't have all of the details (dates and records) of what happened, but I distinctly remember feeling duped when all was said and done.

I was never able to contact anyone with any questions. There were several deals that I wanted assistance on, but was never able to contact TREN reps as promised. I never pursued trying to get my money back because I always felt stupid for believing that 2 guys could possibly mentor everyone in my class, let alone everyone in every seminar they conduct.

I would not recommend attending this seminar especially if they are still having people sign contracts agreeing to split 50% of the profits from your first investment property. I have chosen not to invest in real estate because I don't ever want them to try to come after any profits that I might make doing it. I already paid them all that I want to. I would have rather donated the money to a more worthy cause. When I do go down the re-habbing avenue, it will be well after I am legally bound to pay them anything else.

I will not place all of the blame on them as I believe that there are valuable lessons to be learned from every experience. I KNOW that there is a lot of money to be made in rehabbing, and a lot of what they teach can be used to create success; the peice that is missing is what they use to hook you - the "mentoring relationship".

My husband is still mad at me for talking him into going to that course and spending that much money on it. We could have learned just as much from visiting Barnes & Nobles for a LOT less.
