Sent letter claiming I owe for an NSF check to an establishment I don't patronize and civil, criminal charges are pending

First I just want to say I'm glad I decided to do my homework on these clowns, because something sounded fishy about this from the start. So I want to thank each of you for posting your experience on these clowns because now I know what I have to do. Having been a previous victim of ID theft, I'm skeptical about everything financial.
I called these guys this morning and they hit me with all the nonsense about the letter, their claim that I wrote a bad check to Jiffy Lube for $58. But they say I owe $183.69 due to additional fees. I asked them when did this supposedly occur, they said back in 1999.

Now, of course the bell hit me about SOL. But then I thought, I don't even patronize Jiffy Lube. I've had my own mechanic performing services for my cars for the past 10 years and we are on a cash only basis.

When I asked them to provide me with documentation of the claim, copy of the check, and all info relating to my case they told me it's archived with at the "check insurance" company that Jiffy Lube filed their claim with to get reimbursed for they check I supposedly wrote. (fishy again)
I told them I had filed a police report for the ID theft, they said send it over and once I did that they'll forget all about this issue. (fishy again) Ironically, I talked to our mutual friend Mr. Hutton. Who tried to be a tough guy but my voice carries pretty heavy.

I'm originally from NYC, so I am sending people over to their office today, and filing claims with the local, state and federal authorities against them.

I'm also going to find out about hiring an attorney and starting a class action lawsuit against them for harrasment. If anyone has any suggestions for me about dealing with these clowns I'm all ears and look forward to hearing from you.
