Ripoff tried to say they where with the IRS and needed all my info to transfer $8,000 into my account

About 2 weeks ago I recived a phone call from a man saying that he worked for the Wahington Financial Grant Services and that his company worked with the IRS and that it had come to their attention that they owed me $8,000.

Of couse I questioned him seveal times and he always responed the same saying he was with the IRS and that he already had all the info he was asking for his job was just to confirm I was the person whom the money belonged to.

So like an idiot I ended up giving him my info he gave me a number that i could reach the company at 1-866-623-4123 so after we hung up and i started thinking about it I called the number and when I could not get a hold of anyone and the answering system never mentioned the companys name

It only said to enter my ect. # if i had one or wait for the reciptionist and then it would come back claiming the the answering machine was full and to try again later.

I became upset and then had to close my account with my bank so that they could not acceses it. And i had to then call all the creidt places and let them know what had happened.

Then today they had the nerve to call me back to infom me that the info I had gave them was wrong and they needed the new account number lets just say I am now on their never call again list.

I also called the IRS and they informed me that if indeed they where to ever owe me any money they would never call and ask for account numbers over the phone

I just hope that writing this might help stop just one person from having to deal with this another idea to make sure the person your giving your info to is who the say they are is to ask them for their name and a number that you can reach them back at and the hang up and try to confirm that the info they are giving you is in deed ture.
