Government grant $5000- Free Money for paying your taxes

I got a call today from the "US Government" approving me for a $5,000 free grant. He said, "do you want this money?" I said, "Can you donate it to a church for me?" He hung up... Don't fall for these idiot scams. DOn't give bank info or routing numbers to anyone on the phone. Ask them to call you back on another number, 1-800-suc-kers... THis is the second call like this I've recieved in the last 2 years. I didn't fall for the first one either but I spent more time trying to figure out who the company was so I could get them busted...

The first time they had the guys supervisor call me back to try and prove to me that it was real... I told them I would call the internal revenue service and check them out and then call them back. She said that is fine, call them. I did and they said they never heard of such a thing. I called back but the number was oddley disconected. She called me back 15 minutes later though... What nerve... I argued with her for another 15 minutes on how it was a scam and she kept up with the story that by giving her my routing numbers I would not be putting myself at risk. I said fine, I opened up a new bank account with no money in it, she can deposit it there... She said, "oh but you need to pay a 299.00 service fee before we can transfer the money." I said just deduct it from the 5k. She said she could not do that because it was a government check. She needed to be paid for getting me this money... I said I would wright out a check for 299 to her company and send her another 500 to her bank account (provided she gave me her routing number) right after the money was deposited in my account. Needless to say I had a lot of free time that day and today I did not.
