NorthStar - Victory Promotions Pyramid Scheme that sucks in recent college grads. Ripoff

Con artists! Pyramid scheme! Evil!

This company has many different names, two of which are North Star and DC Advertising, which are located in the same floor of the same building.

Basically it's a pyramid scheme and a scam, aimed at naive college grads. Their ad in CareerBuilder and Monster makes it seem like there is an advancing career in marketing available at this company. They even state salary as 33k-40k.

I went on an interview, and when I asked questions about what I would be doing, the interviewer, Andrew, just kept talking about the second interview and meeting with clients. I finally got him to say that it was door to door sales with no base salary.

These students went on the second interview and the interviewer had them get into his or her car and they were stuck in a neighborhood all day trying to sell ticket packages for sports events.

They are deceptive, alluring, and just a bunch of liars, trying to get you to do grueling door to door sales with a false promise of promotion, so they can get major chunk of what your selling. Then the guy who owns all these bogus companies gets a major chunk of that. It's a pyramid scheme, plain and simple. Nobody gets their college degree to do this kind of work for an evil company where some jerk you will never meet is reaping all the benefits on a tropical island somewhere. But a lot of people get sucked in because of trouble finding a real job.

Needless to say, I did not go on a second interview. It might not be illegal what they are doing, but it might be illegal to make false promises in their job postings and even over the phone. I wish there was more I could do.
