United Online Billed my bank account within 3 days, No free month! Causing overdraft!

I discovered Netzero about 7 years ago when they were a young new company, and I liked their service. I was with them for a year then I went to cable internet service thru local cable company.

Then 2 years ago I bought my 69 year old mother a computer set up and she didn't want to use broadband so I signed her up with Netzero, no problems. Then last month, I could no longer justify paying over $50 a month to check email a couple times a week, so I signed up again with Netzero dial up service.netzero's website offers the 1st month free when you sign up for the $9.99 per month dial up service. However, after 3 days of signing up, they debited my bank account $9.99 which put that particular account in overdraft, and I was charged $33 overdraft fee by my bank. I called Netzero and of course their inexperienced overseas customer service rep, said I must have choosed the wrong online offer and that's why I was billed right away. I told her that I'm not stupid, I am familiar with Netzero's 1st month free policy, and I also have an AAS degree in IT.

After waiting on hold for 10 minutes, she finally offered my 2 months free service. I thought about it for a moment and realized how big Netzero is now, and I will never get them to pay that $33 overdraft fee, I accepted the offer of 2 free months. For being a dial up service Netzero isn't bad, but now that they are a huge corporation under the control of United Online, it's really hard for the normal joe blow to touch them. And that is the way it is with the majority of huge powerful companies. You use their service and just hope they don't make a billing mistake, because the mistake is usually in their favor and they are going to offer you what ever they want to as compensation, because they know they can't be touched.
