Basically my case is identical to that one submitted by Jack of Utah and as such I'm going to quote most of his words.
I heard an add about Internet Speedway (hereafter referred to as IS) on the radio. I called them and was told that to receive information about the company I must pay $9.97 (S and H). I paid by credit card and the information arrived in about 7 days. The information was a CD, a video and a few papers
My mistake was not reading the small print on the outside of the box stating that the program had to be returned in 30 days for a full refund.
I did not know this was a program, I was told it was information only
When my next credit card statement arrived I was being charged 59.95 by IS.
I called IS and expressed my feeling but they only answered: "Tough you did not return the box in 30 days and that means you bought the program".
Immediately, I disputed the charges to appropriate department of my credit card company and they said they would take care of it. Also, I have submitted my claim to the BBB and hope I will receive a favorable outcome.
I'm worried that in the future I will be contacted by a collection agency regarding the charges as Jack experienced.
