Harrassment Ripoff

If you are interested in furthering your education, and have contacted the University of Phoenix online, be prepared to be called daily.

My husband, who is very ill, completed a form online for more information from the University of Phoenix.instead of receiving information or a simple phone call, he was called at least twice daily by the U of P.

They call anywhere from 8am to 8pm, and block their Calling Line ID so you do not know it is them calling. When they call, your Caller ID will not always show who is calling. It will display 000-000-0000 or a fake ID - I expect this is to get your curiousity going so you will answer the phone.

When I answered the phone, they would not leave a message for my husband, and repeatedly stated, "I'll call again later". They certainly did call again later. And again. And again. And again.

When their calls became too much for my husband, due to his illness, I started screening the calls from them. I repeatedly asked them (as did my husband) to stop calling. They did not.

On one occasion, a gentleman called my husband's cell phone, and I answered. I told him to PLEASE stop calling us, that my husband was now gravely ill. He would not accept this, and told me he needed approval from my husband directly. My request was not good enough. He then told me I was yelling at him (and I was not, I was in a bad area to be talking clearly on a cell phone).

Finally, I had to send an e-mail to the webmaster because they still would not leave us alone. I told the webmaster at U of P that they were harrassing my husband, and that unfortunately we would need to take legal action if this continued.

It stopped - after 3 months.
