911 Emergency Phone Number
Not helpful and I seemed to be bugging the operator Ripoff

I have a friend who is having trouble with her husband, on sun. 9/26/04. I received a phone call from her cell and when I answered the call all I could hear was her screaming for her husband to leave her alone and to get away from her. This went on for atleast 3-5 min. Then the call hung up. I called 911 and the operator said there was nothing he could do unless I had the address or home phone number.

I told him that it was a listed number because I just called information and they were able to find the number. I know that if they were able to find the number that they were able to find the address. The person took the number after three times telling me there was nothing that he could do. He said that they would check it out to see what they could find out.

I finally got through to her and she filled me in about how her husband was hitting her on her head and choking her with his hands and then throwing her on the bed and sitting on her neck. She then told me that no one came by or even called. The police can find out how someone was killed with a drop of blood now days but they can't look up a number and find out if someone is ok or not. When someone calls 911 I would like to think they would try to help more.
