The Lufkin edition (owned as a seperate Corporation by the owner of the Tyler edition) of this paper was officially closed (via phone call) on 6/7. The owner of paper is refusing to pay wages owed to employees working at time of shut down. Has no compassion for employees needing their pay. Promises have been made that when money is available the employees will be paid. Labor Law states the the employer is liable for paying wages earned within 6 days of involuntary seperation from work or the next regularly scheduled paydate.
Both dates have passed with no resolution on this matter.
