First National Government Grants
Gave me false hope, put me in debt, and took money away from my baby boy

Education & Science

I had been looking at web sites pertaining to grants and cash advances because my family is on hard times right now. One day a person calling herself Lorna Carlton Id # 421 called me telling me I was eligible for a 12,500 dollar grant. I just had to have filed my taxes for 2003. I was excited, because this would help my family out a great deal in our hard times.

She told me that I was going to recieve an introductory package in the mail in a few days and that there was a bonus package in addition to the 12,500 dollars and the 100 dollar emergency cash. She said all I had to do was pay 29.95 for the proccessing fee and I would recieve my grant directly in my checking account.

She then asked for my address, phone number, and account information to proccess my grant. I believing her gave the information thinking this was a blessing and I wouldn't have to worry about the bills piling up.

She then transferred me to her supervisor (a man) who verified my information and then put me on an automated verification system that asked me to verify the account information and acceptance of the bonus package deal by saying yes or no and slowly stating the account numbers again.

Afterwards, however I became concerned that this might have been some kind of scam and decided to try looking up this company on the internet, only to discover this rip off site and that it was a fraud. All the information from another person about this company matched what Information I was given and had written down. I felt embarrassed for having let myself make this mistake, and downhearted because now I still have the weight of debt and bills on my shoulders.
